October 1st. The day that’s been living on our calendar — and in the back of our minds, honestly, for a lot longer than that — is finally, actually, today.

And if you’re reading this in the first few hours after launch, I want you to know that Michael and I are sitting here in something that feels less like celebration and more like the very quiet reverence you feel, watching a sunrise after struggling through a long, dark night.
It’s crazy when I let myself remember that we’ve been building the World of Menelon since 1994. Coralin and Athos have lived in our heads — and in our notes, our drafts, our arguments about plot structure at odd hours of the night — for longer than some of our readers have been alive. Bringing them to the page, and now to your page, is something I genuinely don’t have adequate words for today.
So I’ll just say this: thank you. To everyone who pre-ordered, who subscribed to The Menelon Gazette, who read the character introductions and sent us kind words, who took a chance on two indie authors and a story they hadn’t heard of yet. You gave us something to launch toward, and that mattered more than you know during the harder weeks of getting here.
