Ameran Indi
What is known:
The small continent (or large island) is highly volcanic and consists mostly of bare rock with few patches of low scrub in sheltered valleys. Throughout their history as conquerors and traders, humans have attempted to create settlements or trade outposes there, but none have lasted longer than twenty years before being deserted as "uninhabitable."
In the year 470, the Emperor of Sudaan sent military forces to Ameran-Indi in an attempt to stop an unknown power from using it as a staging base for the build up of an orc-based army. The Sudaanese forces were completely annhilated during the attack, and all but one of their warships was captured or destroyed. The ship that returned alerted the empire to the truth – that Ameran-Indi was now completely populated with a new, powerful breed of orc (called a War Orc) mastered by dark elves, powerful sorcerors, and evil priests, and that an invasion was imminent.
This was Menlon's introduction to The Confederation army, and the ranks of humankind's enemies in The Great War. For the next century, what little was learned about Ameran-Indi derived from information obtained through extensive interrogation of the relatively few dark elven or human elites who were unfortunate enough to get captured in battle, and none of it was able to be verified until after the war's end.
In common year 570, Ameran-Indi was surrounded by the IMMC forces, blockaded, and completely sacked. Every nook, cave, and cranny was cleaned out of the orcs used for breeding stock as well as the equipment used to breed them. Special expeditionary forces were dispatched to dismantle or disable key elements of the Confederation's industrial war machine and clean out labs used to produce experimental creatures out of nightmare. By 572, the IMMC issued an offical edict banning the Eldar folk (primarily elves and dwarves) from taking part in the clean up after the horrors found there began mentally unhinging them.
As of calendar year 590, the general quarantine of Ameran-Indi is still firmly in place and is enforced by the state of the art warships of the IMMC. Anyone caught within the quarantine zone without IMMC permission is considered to be a Confederation sympathizer and will be taken into custody for extensive questioning.
