The Confederation
In 462 CE the island Republic of Ameran Indi was overthrown, its senators scattered, its people subjugated to the rule of an unknown foreign power comprised of humans of dubious lineage and dark elves, presumably from the wild lands in the north of Sylantia. Once they had consolidated their hold on power and pushed the Imperial Fleets of Sudaan back into the sea in 470 CE, they began perusing their agenda. They bred an entirely new bipedal species out of the common orc that humans would soon call “the war orc.” They would intern the women of Ameran Indi into breeding camps and force them to breed with those foul, unnatural creatures to produce war orc half-breeds possessed of enough intelligence to fill their NCO and junior officer ranks. They would corrupt every weak minded human they could find, adding some to their military ranks, while using others as spies, smugglers, and assassins.
Then they would attack the human world and come far too close to exterminating the human population for anyone's comfort. In fact, The Great War was the first war in Menelon's history in in which the elder races would become directly involved.
The problem is, to this day, nobody really knows exactly what the agenda of The Confederation was. “World domination,” obviously. The extermination of humanity, presumably. The question that remains unanswered is: Why?
It is a question that may never be answered. The last campaign of The Great War was “the scouring of Ameran Indi,” which made darned sure that nothing was left of the Confederation war machine. Unfortunately, by the time the IMMC forces arrive, the Confederation's “General Council” had vanished and have yet to be found.
