Par-Isen
The mighty, mountain-fortress city of Par-Isen is considered the holiest site in the Guardian Paladin religion and to the medini people. It is from under this mountain where their remote ancestors emerged, blinking and fearful, back into the light of day after their generations-long trek under what is now known as the Kaŝeruk Range. It is here where they first carved out their place in the ancient world, creating a massive temple-fortress within the great Mount Isen. They built the great aqueduct and highway system that reaches as far north as the impregnable castle in Núrinen in Vin-Nôrë, then conquered that land and Vin-Llamáz in twin waves of conquest. Worship of the Guardian Paladin has gone on there since the first chapel was dedicated in the first year of the old Ganelon calendar, or about 8,000 years before the founding of the Menelon Common Calendar.
Mount Isen is a free-standing mountain in what is roughly the northwest quadrant of the Plains of Isen, a vast high desert prairie in the Kaŝeruk Range. To the south is Vin-Llamáz. To the north, Vin-Nôrë. Over the mountains far to the west is the Republic of Surmeidän. It is an arid land in its native state, but a large percentage of it is now under the plow thanks to an interlinked series of irrigation channels that provide water from mountain rivers directly to the fields. Par-Isen isn't the only city on the plains, but it is the largest by far, and remains a pilgrimage site for the millions of Guardian Paladins living around the world.
Par-Isen is also the seat of the Imprimæ, the supreme head of the Guardian Paladin Church.
